The home is powered mainly by an organic photovoltaic film on the structure and by the Nissan Leaf electric car (acting as a generator), which generates 24 kW per hour. The designers believe that these two power sources combined can provide all the energy the house might need.

I like the idea of architecture by someone other than an architect. It gives perspective, a new approach, an alternative way of thinking about built space. The video is rather slick, and I don’t quite understand how a Nissan Leaf can power a house, but the intention, if somewhat unclear, is worth exploring.
